Things That I Want: Red Hot - Zara

On my way home last night after grabbing dinner with two friends, this girl on the radio cancelled a date because the guy was taking her out on a Wednesday night . . . it was the first date. I started to think, almost all my first dates happened on a weekday. One most likely dinner would be on the menu and the easiest way to make reservations would be a weeknight. I personally don't think any of it but I supposed some people read connotations from something so mundane as the day picked. Apparently the weekend means something more. Oh please. Then again weekend dates were way more fun to my experience. I guess there might be truth behind her crazy after all.

This post would be one of my Things That I Want that I already own. Since I consider Zara completely accessible, I'm merely sharing what I bought and keeping the red theme that I had going for this week. Like I said before I wish I could afford to throw use my money on high fashion brand names but that wont be realistic. The first item that I got was the reversible bermudas. I mean come on, everybody loves a twofer. I also love the two sides were completely different fabrics. The bermudas retail for $59.90 and the second piece from Zara was the combined fringed sneaker. I've wanted wingtip/sneaker hybrid for a time now and one that I wont feel bad if I scruffed it like the Prada sneaker/brogue. The shoes retail for $89.90

Red All Over - Zascha Knochell by Adrian Mesko

Since it was a long weekend, My week had been a little weird, like yesterday, I kept on thinking it was Monday. In short, a long, short work week for me playing catch up. A five day workload within four days? Why not.

Being around fashion people wearing red pants was not revolutionary by any means. If you know your trends, you would own one. But in the real world, I guess it would be as common as a Unicorn. But hey, it never fails to get flattering remarks from strangers. So I'm not really complaining. But as any trend, wear it responsibly and try to avoid looking like you just stepped out of a Holiday Greetings card.

Well this post would be short and sweet for Hump Day.  The Brazilian fashion week was just last week  and that means the European Menswear circuit would be coming up. SO EXCITED!

Speaking of red, we have an editorial that appeared in the latest issue of GQ Japan and China. Zascha Knochell was photographed by Adrian Mesko and styled by Grant Pearce with red pieces by Lacoste, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen and Etro.

One Day, Someday - Francisco Lachowski & Florian Van Bael by Aline & Jacqueline Tappia

Last night, while closing the long weekend at a coupled friend's place playing cards and beer. At some point they brought up their plans for their to-be first home. Wall color swatches, wood floor choices, and the works came out. They've been together for five years I believe and they're about to buy their first property as a couple.

Honestly for a minute, I was like I want that. I want to settle down. But do I? I say it but my freedom is such an integral part of my life right now that I find myself second guessing my relationship choices. I joke around about my recent break up, defense mechanism, perhaps. Eventhough it was a mutual decision, I did open the door, we just "walked together" through it. Like any person there would be nights where I contemplate to myself if I made the right decision. In the end all we have would be our conviction.

For somebody who spent a good number of years of my adult life being with somebody, you'd think that I would have got this down by now. But I don't. One day, Someday. I would.

In today's post, we have an editorial that appeared on the first issue of ODDA magazine with the title Questioned Innocence. Top model Francisco Lachowski and Florian Van Bael stared on the editorial that was photographed by the amazing Aline and Jacqueline Tappia. Styled by David Martin and Maria Ruiz with pieces by Louis Vuitton, Frankie Morello, and Costume National to name a few.

The magazine looked promising. I'm excited what the editors had up their sleeves.

Stars And Stripes: A Brief Moment To Thank YOU!

Since today is Memorial Day here in the US, I'll observe the holiday by not posting a runway review. On the other hand, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the local/national designers for all the invites for their shows, My fashionistos and fashionistas for being a fan of this blog, and my friends and family that had been behind me all the way. I can't believe that it's been almost three years since I started writing this blog! Thank you, thank you! Well of course eventhough that I don't agree with a lot of things in the military, I would like to thank all of those who serve and lost to fight for our liberty, honor and freedom. And, last but definitely not the least, I thank You, you know who you are.

Heat - Patrick Kafka by Dean Isidro

Yesterday while going through my social calendar that I realized how there are quite a few events all happening in one weekend. Memorial Day, Carnaval, and the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge. Ideally, I would love to get away for the long weekend but the city is buzzing with parties and events as well. We shall see where I end up.

To close the week, We have Patrick Kafka as he appears on the June/July 2012 issue of Out magazine. The editorial Tequila Sunrise is lensed by Dean Isidro and styled by Grant Woolhead with pieces by Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Michael Kors and Bottega Veneta to name a few.

A group of my friends are planning a trip to Mexico this coming July. This editorial just makes me want for July to come sooner.

Hit Me Baby One More Time - Samuel Visentin by Simon

I'm not sure if you've been on a situation where you're having a good time with another person, the conversation is coming easy and then it hits you. You already know this person. The stories seems familiar because it is familiar to you. In fact, you've heard it before because you've already gone on a date with this person. The fact that they knew about it and I didn't made it more awkward of a situation. Well I guess this person didn't make that much impression on me the first time. Oh well. Reconnecting is always good I suppose.

Like I always say, San Francisco is way too small of a town.

In today's editorial post we have another one from Toh! magazine. This time with a bloodied Samuele Visentin as photographed by Simon and with the styling by Alex Vaccani. Aside from the blood the pieces showcased here were predominantly basics by Ports 1961, Maison Martin Margiela, Marc Jacobs, and Frankie Morello to name a few.

Alright this is not the first bloodied pictorial I've seen but it did catch my attention. Eventhough there are some images here that I think are way too graphic for my taste, the editorial looks great. Unusual but great and no I don't condone violence, let's keep that straight.

Happy Friday, my fashionistos and fashionistas!

Things That I Want: Walk A Mile In His Choos - Jimmy Choo Spring/Summer 2012

Jimmy Choo S/S 2012
I have to say that Facebook is one of those social networking sites rich with useless information I mean, daily static information. The other night while on the last stretch before getting off work, I checked my wall and found this link posted by an ex (the irony really) about Top 25 Things You'll Learn In Your 20's posted **here**. Ryan O'Connell brought up a lot of things that I went through most of them within the past couple of years. Yes, even the bad fashion or what I consider bad fashion.  I still have boxes from my college/fraternity years at my parent's house as a reminder that I once entered that god forsaken place also known as Abercrombie and Fitch.

Nick Jonas in his Choos
Another busy day awaits me today. The good thing about this week, it flew by like the wind down the streets of San Francisco.

In this week's Things That I Want post, I'm crazy about these pair of Jimmy Choos. Okay I'm not the only fashionisto out there just dying to say that, yep thanks to that show called Sex And The City. But when I heard that Jimmy Choo will have a men's line it's almost like I could here Angels sing . . . or was I just passing a church, I can't remember. Regardless, I'm really liking the take on the tassel loafers called Hamilton. Classic but redefined by the tubular tassel. Tasseled loafers is definitely one of the must have trend this Spring/Summer. Oh Jimmy Choo, I love you. The shoes retail for $750, not bad for a pair of Choos.
