Things That I Want . . . Part 12: Timeline

For those of my fashionistos and fashionistas on Facebook. I mean come on let's be honest EVERYBODY is on Facebook these days. Last night I went to check out what is everybody talking about, Facebook Timeline. So far, it looks great when you get over the fact that it is a little creepy. What I mean is I can go through posts from a year or two ago and see events that I already forgot about. Almost like fb stalking yourself.

As most of San Franciscans would attest, it's our Summer and I'm planning to enjoy the sun and heading to the beach after work today. It's been a long week and today is my "Friday" and some fun under the sun is in order or at least that's the plan.

Eventhough I love the more common high fashion houses like LV for leather goods. I tend to shy away from them most of the time. More than usual, everybody would end up purchasing that certain item. So I tend to buy brands that are popular in Asia or Europe, because unfortunately Europeans and Japan have a better hand dealt to them, in terms of fashion houses. Which brings me to one of the things I have my eye on. A Trussardi briefcase. I know, I know I remember saying I didn't really care for S/S 2012 show back in June but I'm absolutely in love with this portfolio and it's on sale for  $381 how can you go wrong with that. It has its an all-leather counterpart but this appeals to me more.

All In A Day's Work - Benoit by Henry Moshizi

Balancing my social itinerary versus my professional itinerary is always a balancing act. Conflict happens and I have to decide wether I'm willing to sacrifice one for the other. realistically today is my friday but I still have tomorrow as my last day of work for the week and then my "weekend" begins. Sometimes I sit at home after a day's work to relax but my brain is still going a thousand miles per second. I have to remind myself that I love shoes and clothes and ergo I love my job. I think stress and job, no matter great you are at time management and resource management, it will happen. At the end of the day, its nothing personal. It's just all in a day's work.

In this story that appeared on Ahlens city's fashionation webzine and was Photographed by Henry Moshizi. Richard Anderson outfitted the male model, Benoit, with pieces from Boss, Ralph Lauren, and J.Lindberg. I love every look and the play on texture was just great!

Happy Hump Day to most of my fashionistos and fashionistas!

Difference In Use Of Words - Sean O'Pry by Doug Inglish

Last night while going through my facebook, I came across an acquaintance's street style blog. I was a little thrown off on how he described the outfits and the people he photographed. The whole blog was very experimental.  The bad thing about insta-post: mistypes. I'm not perfect by any means but it was one of those things that when you read it and you spot the mistakes . . . it was jarring.  More than anything else, it pushes me to be vigilant in proof reading my own work. I guess it boils down to who works in the industry and who takes this thing called blogging more seriously. Afterall, this IS another platform for me and my career in the fashion industry.

My Monday was surprisingly smooth sailing. I thought it would be a "Monday" but it was not the case, not like I was complaining or anything though.

Another great editorial for GQ Russia featuring top model Sean O'Pry. I don't really know what's with European and Asian magazines and why do they have better editorials compared to their American counterparts. Do they have better editors? Probably. Ekaterina Melnikova put together great coats from the likes of Thom Browne, Tom Ford, Acne, Gucci and Louis Vuitton to name some. The story was lensed by the always great Doug Inglish.

Non-Existent Weekend - Zara Young Lookbook for September/August

Over the weekend I was invited to a friend's friend's (that sounds funny) birthday dinner at a restaurant chain that shall remain nameless. I got there a little earlier than my friend so I went to get myself a cocktail at the bar. I ordered a very standard Margarita and was surprised that it was served in a plastic cup. Okay, I'm not snobby or anything but I actually stared at the cup for a second and thought if it was a joke. It was so bizarre for me for a cocktail to be served in a plastic cup. One I was not in a house party nor was I in a hole in the wall restaurant. Aside from that my weekend was pretty much, well, non-existent. Work called.

Last week fast fashion giant, Zara released their september lookbook for their Young collection. That was when I realized that the Young August lookbook never made it live. So here's the September AND August lookbooks. Featuring Harry Goodwins and Alex Dunstan respectively.
