Milan Men's Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011-12 - Day 4 Roundup

January 18, 2011

9:30am - Dsquared2
Another western inspired collection actually called "brokeback mormon" anyway individually the waistcoats look good and there are some shirts that I wont mind owning but I'm a little disappointed overall. Oh well.

10:30am - Neil Barrett
After the disaster that was dsquared2, this collection is quite refreshing, sure a little bizarre that the whole collection was based on scuba diving and scuba diving long johns mixed with nice leather, knits and fur coats. If you ignore the bottoms it is not bad at all.

11:30am - Giorgio Armani
The Giorgio Armani show wasn't as bad, a lot of velvet jacket and pieces and roomy front pleated pants, is it coming to trend again? hmm. Again, the outerwear overall are pretty amazing but again nothing really caught my eye.

1:30pm - Z Zegna
Now this is something! hmm who wouldn't want a plonge leather oversized overcoats (that neoprene looking coats, you wont miss it.) I know its lined with cashmere but really? I mean REALLY?! On the other hand, I like how delicate cashmere were mixed with the knits creating a sheer swatches on the sweaters. Allesandro Sartori, creative director, also used a more of the boxed shaped suits and more of the foam looking outerwear that resembles suit jackets.

3:00pm - Enrico Coveri

3:30pm - Gazzarini

Since I did not see the whole collection for Enrico Coveri and Gazzarrini I will leave for you guys to decide and not put my input on them.

Overall, the last day of Milan Men's fashion week was such a disappointment. Some interesting pieces but most of the collection were one note wonders. ugh! Here's to looking forward to Paris homme fashion week that starts . . . TODAY!!!
