Milan Men's Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011-12 - Day 3 Roundup

January 17, 2011

9:30am - Dirk Bikkembergs Sport Couture
Inspired by rowing wear or stuff you would wear between the gym  . . . and rowing. The heavy knits are great and the sweat/tuxedo pants. Nothing remarkable but its something.

10:30am - Iceberg
If there's one thing I love year after year from Iceberg. the soft almost pastel color palette it has. Again, the knits are great and the sweats/ pants looks very comfortable and fashionable at the same time. The light sweaters look really nice.

11:30am - John Richmond
Fur lined everywhere I love it. Especially the grey hoodie above I want one. The show had muted like asphalt gray color story that in a way start to looked monotone saved grace by the leather and the furs.

12:30pm - Gucci
Gucci, as usual is very sophisticated and classic getting inspired by the 70's classic, a bit a little more subdued almost reminds me of Armani. The accesories on the other hand, well its Gucci the bags are awesome.

2:00pm - Etro
Playing with what seems the trend for next fall/winter dark blues, and chocolate browns. suede and leather  took center stage in this season's show. I love the blue jacket above but if you have a chance check out those hairy shoes.

3:00pm - D&G
When I saw a preview of the D&G show and saw the Mickey Mouse pieces and other pop culture insignias I was like "Oh god" followed by the rolling eyes. But when I actually had the chance to watch the full show the other pieces are not bad at all especially the way the boys are styled is how I dress.

4:00pm - Canali
This show is what I call when vampires go to office wear. OMG such a dark show. Everything is very much italian cut and styled.

5:00pm - Versace
The Versace show again sampled the maroon-esque/crimson red that has been every where this season. Of course the sharp, slick leather jackets and suit jackets are in parade which people keep on quoting as "Matrix-y" if that's a look.

6:00pm - Pringle of Scotland
The heavy knits are great with the big chunky scarves and turtle necks. Again crimson red and more fur. Such a great collection that's rich in color and texture.

7:00pm - Alexander McQueen
Sarah Burton did a great job instilling what McQueen started. The military wear are sharp and timeless.  Including a poncho that will end all ponchos.  My favorite? that gold zip up with the grand coat with the dramatic collar.

8:00pm Moschino
Featuring Jock wear? well Rugby wear actually including a few real rugby players. The jackets and puffers are nice and again Crimson red!
