Everybody needs a little alone time now and again. For whatever reason or need might be. The last couple of days had been a little stressful. Work had been well work, hectic. That leaves me little to no time to actually gather myself at the end of the day and asses the puzzle pieces that I call my life.

I have to consider some things that happened over the weekend and how it affects me and my situation. Sometimes I admit that I lose myself at the moment. I'm guilty of that. I've decided on Monday that I needed to come up for air, temporarily. I just need to focus my attention and energy on something more equalizing like work and fashion. Until I or we figure out what my (our) next step would be. To be honest it does kill me not talking to E.S. at night but alas I needed to be as level headed as possible and not intoxicated with love's promise.

In today's editorial Alexander Laible appeared on the cover of L'Officiel Hommes Germany. Photographed by Errikos Andreou and styled by editor-in-chief Lale Aktay with pieces from Burberry Prorsum, Prada, Z Zegna and Lacoste to name a few.

I do love this cover story not just because it features some of the key pieces for Spring/Summer 2012 but the styling and how everything was put together was amazing.

It's Not Like The Movies - Jean Paul Gaultier at The deYoung Museum

What a weekend. It was fun but never long enough like always. I have to apologize for not posting something yesterday. The weekend kicked my butt and by the time I had gone home on Sunday. I had to deal with something of the matter of E.S..

The most challenging thing about a long distance relationship or any other relationship I suppose would be trust. Without it, whatever you might think you have with that other person will crumble like a sand castle with the coming tide. Insecurity will always be an ugly trait but it is only human to have insecurities. So, jealousy would be an uglier one. As an individual, one should always know their self worth and wether you were being devalued by another. Somebody once told me that the best looking people were sometimes the most insecure . . . or something like that. On the flip side, if one is jealous that means that they do care, right?

At the end of the day, we really can't control everybody around us. if one is out with friends and somebody shows interest. Flirt but remember who's coming home with you or not coming home with you.

I know too deep and it's just Tuesday.  I did say it was an eventful weekend.

Last Friday, I went to the first Friday Nights of the year at the deYoung museum. It is when the museum opens till around nine pm and have some form of installation or a performance in support of what's the main exhibit. This time its Jean Paul Gaultier. It was nice to see some of the most iconic pieces up close. From costumes worn in movies, Madonna on tour to coveted pieces from collections from the 70's to the recent years. As an accessory fanatic, I had to say that some of the pieces were oh-so amazing.

If you find yourself in the city, I would suggest to check out the exhibit but experience it on Friday nights.

GLAD-iator Redux - Benjamin Eidem by Karl Lagerfeld

Last night, I went to check out the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the deYoung museum.  It was such an amazing night. I have been to other designer's exhibits but compared to the last two I've seen, the Gaultier exhibit I was really excited for . I thought because it was more geared to a younger crowd. I would post some of the pictures on Monday as part of a hybrid of a Runway Review.

In other news, my newest niece was born in the wee hours of the morning. Congratulations to my baby sister and my brother-in-law to the newest member of our family. I can't wait to see her!

To close this week, I give you the second half of the gladiator inspired editorial from Numero Homme. Last week, I posted the first half featuring Baptiste Giabiconi *here*. Today, Karl Lagerfeld photographs another top model, Benjamin Eidem in pieces by Vivienne Westwood, Dries Van Noten and Dolce & Gabbana to name a few. I thought for some reason armor and high fashion just went together like butter and bread. Either that or I a have a Daphne Guinness complex which was not bad at all.

Walk In The Park - Kris Kranz by Cameron McNee

There is something fun about getting along with all the people you work with. One, productivity is always high and two I can always hang out with them after work without fake-liking them or any awkward silences. But it is important to have a level of professionalism at work so boundaries aren't crossed. I think it's always important to communicate that work is work and fun is fun.

The same goes with friends. Friends are friends and there is your boyfriend/girlfriend. It can not be either/or. Friends with benefits always never work out. At least to my experience. Somebody will end up being hurt and then drama happens.

The funny thing about people no matter how much communication happens interpretations can sometimes obscure the message.

Tonight, I'm checking out the Jean-Paul Gaultier exhibit with a friend. Yes, I asked for E.S.'s approval. I'm pretty excited. I still don't know what to wear but I'm sure I'll come up with something.
