Oh my Friday for this work week has arrived! I just have to survive today and weekend will begin. On another note, a performer from a trip that I've planned for next week had cancelled her show. I'm a little sad and disappointed since I've been looking forward to this since last month. 

At least I will be next to the beach, worst comes to worst it will be warm. Oh, the month of weekend getaway and how I love thee. 

In today's editorial, we have top model RJ King as photographed by Giovanni Squatriti for the newest issue of Essential Homme. The Call of The Wilde was styled by Giuseppe Ceccarelli with pieces from the collections of high fashion brands like Prada, Valentino, and Roberto Cavalli to name a few.

As usual, I love the Prada pieces and how the light sheen on RJ's cheeks made him look a little plastic.

In Love With The Idea of Being . . . - Taylor Gannon by Sebastian Mader

Eventhough I had a very busy weekend of being social, I loved every second of it. Unfortunately, it all caught up on me yesterday. I was drained out after work and pretty much crashed. I know, I know it was only Monday but fortunately the next couple of weeks would be short work weeks for me and longer weekends. That means trips and getting out of the city more. I'm getting ahead of myself here, I need to get through this week first.

The funny thing about meeting new people over drinks was that they ask you interesting questions (liquid courage?), like the subject of love on a first date/hang out. Usually, I don't care but I always felt like getting put on a spot but I do try to be honest. That brings us to what my friend told me last night. He believed that I'm in love with the idea of being in love. That might be true or I'm just biding my time. It would not be fair to say I haven't loved in a couple years since I'm practically single for a month and some change. One thing would be true though, I'm interested at someone right now but the question was, where does this person stand?

In today's editorial we have Taylor Gannon as he appeared on the July issue of Interview magazine. The heavily military inspired pieces were put together by stylist, Miguel Enamorado and shot by Sebastian Mader. 

I'm in love with those LV pieces and those boots. I've always wanted to buy riding shoes it would be the matter of where to wear them. I also thought that the Givenchy pieces also looked great after my mixed review of the fall/winter collection.

There are some things in life you cannot force. One of them is attraction. I suppose you can fake it or you can deny it but without it, there's no connection. Relationship or friendship. Have I found this person or am I'm just projecting or am I just being stubborn, or am I? Wrong person or wrong timing. Pick one.

To close the week we have Oliver Cheshire for British magazine, Shortlist. Cameron McNee shot the serene and quite breathtaking editorial in Mykonos. Barnaby Ash outfitted Cheshire with pieces from Louis Vuitton, Tom Ford, Gucci and Bally to name a few.

Oh weekend thanks you're here once more. Work has been slow but tedious. So eventhough I had a very short week it felt like I was working more that five days. Not to mention that 4th of July fell on a Wednesday this year making the work week a little awkward.

On another note I had a fun fourth hanging out with my friends. This year we actually made it to the top of Bernal Heights (one of the hills in San Francisco) to watch the firework shows around town and beyond.

Today we have an editorial found on the July/August issue of Esquire Espana. Arthur Kulkov was photographed by Alfonso Ohnur and styled by Chabela Garcia with pieces by Dior Homme, Lacoste, Louis Vuitton and Dolce and Gabbana to name a few. I also love that the swim wear that I wanted from Gant by Michael Bastian was featured on this editorial.

It's been a while since I've been to the beach at night time. The last time was something special but last night, I was with two of my close friends listening to songs when we were younger and possibly wedding songs. I know, right. How sentimental. If you were curious, mine was "When I First Saw You" from Dream Girls. I absolutely love that song.

On another note, I finally got my tickets for Les Miserables in a couple of weeks. I'm excited. Since my trip to London for the concert got sidetracked a few years ago. This is making up for it.

Runway Monday: Ghetto Fabulous - Frankie Morello Spring/Summer 2013 Review

When talking about Summer, gloom usually does not come to mind but that was our weekend in San Francisco. Foggy, drizzly, dank and muggy would pretty much summarize the weather. That doesn't stop me from enjoying my weekend though. From a dinner at the Velvet Cantina to drinks at Blackbird.  It was an eventful yet tasteful weekend.

One of the interesting question I got asked over the weekend was the fact somebody asked me what I really wanted and was trying to figure me out. Honestly, I don't have relationship-phobia. When the right person comes it will happen. But most the time it would be the right person at the wrong time or vice versa.

Back to the grind and quite a handful of deadlines this week. Let's do this.

Like I said last week, Shiny and metallics galore paraded the runways from both Milan and Paris shows. Not that I'm aversely allergic to shiny things. I tend to like shiny things . . . most of the time. The duo in charge of Frankie Morello brand used some of the metallics in a way that was unique. I've always been a fan of the house eversince I found out about them a few years ago. Okay, their collections tend to have some form of statement and the Spring/Summer 2013 was no different. The duo got their inspiration from Romain Gavras' political protest videos. That would explain the urban feel of the collection.  People who knew me knows that  I have a strong affinity to street art and flat caps. I loved that in this collection, the mesh of both street style and tailored pieces worked together. The color story remained predominantly black with gold and whites here and there. The texture was just amazing from mesh, metallics, lace and boom box prints. Okay sure it would have to be a very special occasion to be able to wear a gold tank with a white buttondown or with baggy shorts for that matter but I absolutely loved it. Even towards the end with tailored jackets matched with the somewhat baggy shorts that also came in lace and sequined. The plethora of choices of different fabrics that made the baseball jackets was definitely refreshing. The hightops I also loved. I absolutely love some of the flat caps and the sunglasses! Sure the collection may come out a little "ghetto fabulous" but as a show I thought the pieces were well constructed and definitely shows craftsmanship and great tailoring.
