The Boy From Ipanema - Renato Ferreira by Rick Day

The editorial that was entitled The Boy From Ipanema featured Brazilian model from Major Models, Renato Ferreira and photographed by the always body conscious photographer, Rick Day.  I know Renato is barely wearing anything but this week's weather in San Francisco had been phenomenal that all that was on my mind, all week, was how nice would be a trip to the beach sounded so-OH-appealing or just even hanging out at the SF beach aka Dolores Park would be a nice consolation. Happy Saturday to everybody and to my Mom and all the mothers out there. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. Show her how much you appreciate her.

Ahoy! - Sebastian Sauve by Dimitris Theocharis

The editorial that appeared on Schon Magazine was ispired by the 1982 film by Rainer Werner Fassbinder's Querelle. Super male model  Sebastian Sauve was photographed by Dimitris Theocharis and styled by Ioannis Dimitriousis (now say both names five times) in pieces by Jean Paul Gaultier. I love the incorporation of the stripes which is one of the biggest trend for the Spring/Summer seasons. Happy Friday Everybody.

Muchos Gracias! - A little thank you for the 10k

Well It's 1:30am and I just got home from the Asterisk Magazine's event. I was supposed to write about the event and show off my Not so Prada-esque sweater (it's actually Marc Jacobs). But I'm tired and would do my write up for the event scheduled this coming Friday. In the mean time, I will take this opportunity to clear up something, here it goes. No I don't wake up at 5am western time to post on my blog. I schedule them to be posted at that time. And on another related note, happy cinco de mayo! and Thanks for the support guys, 10,000 and counting

Animal Friendly - Francisco Lachowski for Reserva Spring 2011 Campaign and Lookbook

Okay, for those who've seen their lookbook/campaign at Reserva's website (follow the link here) I know its not just Francisco Lachowski who was featured but He's defo the biggest name. The Brazilian brand  featured a few interesting pieces for their spring/summer collection.  I think a good way to summarize the collection was that it was a period collection with a modern twist. I like the matchy-matchy jacket/bowtie combo, Its also nice that jacket matches a shorts option as well. I like the maroon asymetrical cut jacket/sweater (not pictured). Eventhough I know that Brazil's men's fashion is a force to be reckon with I'm not well versed with the houses and brands that come from there. I better do my homework, sigh.

Touched For The Very First Time - Travis Cannata by Mariano Vivanco

Travis Cannata appeared on Hercules' current issue as a "Virgin" yes with quotation marks. Mariano Vivanco lensed the shoot with the help of stylist, David Vivirido. Styling their virgin with pieces from D&G, Givenchy, Dsquared2, Gucci, and Gianfranco Ferre to name a few. There was a video that accompanied this editorial that has madonna's Like a Virgin playing in the background. It was umm what's the word I'm looking for . . . oh right! Cheesy. I mean the location for the shoot was beautiful but I think the video is a little bit much.

Runway Monday: Pucker Up - Vivienne Westwood fall/winter 2011-2012

Well aside from the drop crotch pants or carrot pants I supposed the collection is what would have been expected from the queen of eccentricity. The boys are made up with bright red lipstic and super styled 40's inspired hair, a nice touch really. The suits, as coming to fashion, are more boxy and baggier than what have been parading the runway in the recent years. I really like the leather bags from this year's collection not too casual like the previous collection. But of course, there are those pieces that make me cringe a little bit, like the red jacket number with the black shirt or the super baggy jeans yikes! The casual wear in this collection took a back seat like way in the back and let more tailored pieces take center stage. The brown pants/blue jacket look is probably one of my favorite. I also love that the outerwear doesn't feel too heavy. Some of the knit pieces are pretty nice as well. Like I mentioned I didn't really like the baggy jeans but Im a big fan of the carrot pants, I think that's one of the things that I would really look forward from a Vivienne Westwood collection. Now let's go with the shoes, one word:  Love!
