High Fashion Frat Boy - Ryan Bertroche by Bruno Staub

Ryan Bertroche appeared on Hercules Magazine looking like a frat boy with great taste in fashion. Even though Ryan was barely wearing anything I think it helped featured the article of clothing that he was wearing times ten. I love the Givenchy short/pants. Photographed by the famous photographer Bruno Staub and styled with pieces from Iceberg, Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy and D&G.

Relax, Dirty Hands! - Kris Van Assche Spring/Summer 2011

A few weeks ago, I featured the Dior Homme collection by Kris Van Assche and for this week I decided to feature the collection from his name sake. If you're going to compare both collection there are similarities with the design aesthetic, for obvious reasons. The color palette are the same and simplicity with details which what Kris Van Assche do best. I like the pieces that featured the tie around workers apron on the pants.  The more structured but yet soft pieces, i love but did not really care for the oil splattered ones.

East coast Musings - Christopher Landon and Bruce La Spruce by Adrian Mesko

The series appeared on Style Men magazine story entitled, Beat Generation, photographed by Adrian Mesko. The two boys were styled with pieces from the collections of Louis Vuitton, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, among others. The boys just exude style that simply says 50's east coast (hence the name), which sucks since I'm in the west coast.

Trend Thursdays: Blazer'n Hot During Fall

William Rast
Kai-Aakmann F/W 2010-11
There's a time in a young man's life that one should own at least one tailored suit jacket or even a tux. Nowadays, both are not exclusive to fancy soiree anymore. Most men spend hundreds of dollars on a nice dinner jacket only to be worn a handful of times. Nowadays, a nice sharp jacket blazer is worn by fashionistos when they are out and about in town. You can dress it down with a pair of nice jeans or slacks. Wear a plain t-shirt or a casual button down with it. Be creative on how you dress it down, experiment and accessorize, don't be afraid to urbanize your look. I think some pointers to remember is to get a blazer that is slim cut or european cut and keep it classic. You NEVER want to look like you just bought the entire outfit from the runway to the street. No Bueno.

Here are some of my suggestions:

High Fashion meets High Street, Again - First Look at Lanvin for H&M

When I heard for the first time that Lanvin's Alber Elbaz was coming to do a collection for H&M I was ecstatic. Then I got worried. If you live in the US and enjoy quality clothes (at least) you would know what I'm talking about. I love H&M but most of the time it would be my last resort for some pieces that are trendy right now. Why? Because of the quality. I've said it before and here I go once again. H&M's quality in the US is not that great. They look good but again you get what you paid for. I have a few pieces that were from H&M that came from Europe and they are not the same in terms of quality. But I just have to cross my fingers and hope for the best. As you will see from the first pictures that was released it is looking mighty fine, very Lanvin. The collection featured 40 pieces that includes overcoats, suits, shirts and of course the accessories (the bow tie? love). The staged fashion show was aired today at 12 am pacific US time. The full collection will be available on November 4th at h&m.com and the clothes will be on November 20th in select stores and yes I can't wait.

Pardonez Moi - Hussein Naim by Mohktar Beyrouth

Disappearing for a week is very weird, but alas making my costume for the halloween festivities took a lot of my time than I wanted it to. Maybe next time I would learn to start much earlier than 5 days before. At any other rate, These photos appeared on the art magazine, Bespoke. Hussein Naim was photographed by Mohktar Beyrouth and styled with H&M pieces mixed with high fashion houses like Dior and Louis Vuitton. I think the styling was great since not everybody can afford everything from high fashion brands and by incorporating them with pieces from H&M and Zara makes it more relatable . . . to most.
